Conscious Place is the next generation of experiential development that is inspirational, educational, sustainable and a place of wellness and vitality. It will build deep emotional connection with customers and all stakeholders by making a difference in their community and their life by making them feel connected, empowered and loved.

THE GROVE

Where do you go when you leave work but don’t want to go home? Fort Worth’s second living room is The Grove at Waterside, a place for all Fort Worthians to relax, get inspired, and connect. The park-like oasis in the center of the Waterside development is tucked away from view, so you’ll have to explore by taking the pathway near Whole Foods Market’s café and patio or the pathway by Piattello.

WATERSIDE GIVES BACK

REI

Each year, REI donates millions of dollars to support conservation efforts nationwide and sends dedicated teams of volunteers—members, customers and REI employees—to build trails, clean up beaches, restore local habitats and more. Through responsible business practices across the company, REI strives to reduce our environmental footprint.

REI has invested $8.5 million in more than 300 local, regional and national nonprofits working to steward and increase access to more than 1,000 inspiring outdoor places. From 1976 to 2015, REI and The REI Foundation have invested more than $68 million to organizations preserving and providing access to the outdoors.

Blaze Fast Fire’d Pizza

Blaze Pizza is a perfect place to have a fundraiser; with every purchase made, a percentage is donated back to your organization. Blaze provides customized flyers inviting supporters to the event, you distribute them. During the event, your guests present the flyers when they order their fast-fire’d creation. After the event, Blaze Pizza will put a check in the mail for 20% of net sales that your event brings in (excluding alcohol sales). CycleBar

CycleBar offers CycleGiving, a philanthropic movement that partners with local organizations and charities to help them raise donations. CycleBar will provide a CycleStar® Instructor and staff to facilitate a 50-minute charity ride—as well as access to the community room for a social gathering after the ride. Organizations and charities can plan a charity ride in which they will receive all proceeds from registered riders. Mattress Firm

Mattress Firm Foster Kids, a program of the Ticket to Dream Foundation™, partners with non-profit foster care partners to improve the lives of local foster children. The program responds directly to the needs outlined by agency partners—and one of the biggest needs they’ve communicated is help replenishing essential items that foster children are often missing.

Throughout the year, Mattress Firm hosts donation drives at stores and in communities to collect funds and essential items that foster children often go without. You can also donate online, and your gift will be used by selected foster care partners to provide foster children with special programs and services.

Steel City Pops

Contact your local store at ryan@steelcitypops.com for details on requesting a popsicle cart for off-site give back opportunities at your school or non-profit event. Steel City Pops partners with locally and globally minded charities. The list of charities they partner with are stated below:

NeverThirst – Neverthirstis a nonprofit organization with a mission to make clean, potable water accessible in third world and underdeveloped nations. NeverThirst began in 2006 and has delivered over 100,000 people clean water needed to live healthier lives.

Triumph Services – In cities where Steel City Pops stores are located, they partner with nonprofit organizations to provide jobs for people with disabilities. Through Triumph and other similar organizations, they help people with disabilities gain independence and confidence by giving them the opportunity to be a part of a workplace community.

Provid – Steel City Pops bottles and sells Provid water and then donates 100% of the profits to NeverThirst. Through this approach, they have funded the installation of numerous wells in India and Uganda.

The Exceptional Foundation – The Exceptional Foundation is an organization where individuals with special needs can enjoy social and recreational activities. Steel City Pops features star decorations in their stores during Christmas that were made by people at The Exceptional Foundation.

Sur La Table

Sur La Table supports Wholesome Wave – national nonprofit dedicated to eliminating food deserts (communities where fresh produce is not available) by making fresh, healthy, locally grown fruits and vegetables available to all people—regardless of income—and, in the process, supporting small and midsize farms. Sur La Table matches customers’ donations to Wholesome Wave dollar for dollar, up to $25,000.

In 28 states, Wholesome Wave works with farm-to-retail venues, community leaders, healthcare providers, other nonprofits and government entities to help consumers in underserved communities and the farmers who provide for them.

Tokyo Joe’s

Tokyo Joe’s promotes a healthy lifestyle by sponsoring a world-class cycling team and riders in our own backyard. This Mountain Bike Team was founded in 2002, and the athletes race primarily mountain bike events from short track to ultra-marathon.

Tokyo Joe’s also supports schools through their feed-the-kids program, teacher support lunches, door prizes, sporting events, and much more. Contact the local store manager at waterside@tokyojoes.com to arrange give back events.

Whole Foods Market

Each of Whole Foods store has a lot of latitude in deciding the best way to operate that individual store to meet the needs of the local community. Overall, Whole Food’s community giving well exceeds 5% of their total net profits each year.

Different Programs include:

Whole Planet Foundation – Whole Planet Foundation’s mission is poverty alleviation in 69 countries, including the United States where Whole Foods Market® sources products. Whole Planet Foundation partners with microfinance institutions in Latin America, Africa and Asia, as well as in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.

Whole Kids Foundation – is dedicated to helping kids eat better—and enjoy it! Whole Kids Foundation’s mission is to support schools and inspire families to improve children’s nutrition and wellness. This is accomplished through a range of innovative partnerships and programs.

Whole Cities Foundation – is a new non-profit organization dedicated to supporting efforts that bring fresh, nutritious food and broader access to healthy eating education to underserved communities. Whole Cities Foundation builds collaborative partnerships with community organizations that are poised to make significant impact in their neighborhoods. The Foundation also helps to improve individual and overall community health and wellness in the U.S.

Community Giving – Whole Food’s team members are part of the local community and they are passionate about supporting the local causes that are important to shoppers and neighbors. Each store donates food to area food banks and shelters. And several times a year, stores hold community giving days (otherwise known as “5% Days”) where five percent of that day’s net sales are donated to a local nonprofit or educational organization.

Zoe’s Kitchen

Zoe’s partners with schools and children’s groups to celebrate the creative spirit of children and to raise funds. Zoe’s also offers on-site hosting or off-site catering of your fundraising event.
